Thanks for breaking that down for us. As someone who uses AI on regular basis, it’s good to know what’s what.

I was wondering though, what’s your take on AI using data available but not always crediting the output? I feel there’s still a debate out there about using AI’s generated content when you don’t know the source.

Great point. AI’s ability to create content is transformative (in the non-copyright act meaning!), but the lack of attribution is a real issue. The Copyright Office report highlights concerns about transparency—if we don’t know where AI pulls from, how do we know what’s original? As copyright laws evolve, we’ll definitely need clearer rules on attribution and fair use. But of course attribution invites the formalities that we did away with. Very interesting questions to be considered.
